Rwanda is now a member of the East African Community (EAC). This has got implications for the Rwanda Customs administration, which is a member of the East African Community Customs Union (EAC CU). Import tax is progressively eliminated on all imports from other countries of the Union and harmonized import taxes are being implemented for all goods imported from countries outside the EAC CU.
